I am in love. Yes I am. With Calvin and Hobbes..

For some reason Im in a C&H mood. :) These are some of my FAVORITE C&H quotes.

"Why isn't my life like a situation comedy? Why don't I have a bunch of friends with nothing better to do but drop by and instigate wacky adventures? Why aren't my conversations peppered with spontaneous witticisms? Why don't my friends demonstrate heartfelt concern for my well being when I have problems? ...I gotta get my life some writers."

"I'm a simple man, Hobbes."
"You?? Yesterday you wanted a nuclear powered car that could turn into a jet with laser-guided heat-seeking missiles!"
"I'm a simple man with complex tastes."

"See Any UFOs?"
"Not yet."
"Well, keep your eyes open, they're bound to land here sometime."
"What will we do when they come?"
"See if we can sell mom and dad into slavery for a star cruiser"

"Mom's not feeling well. So I'm making her a get well card."
"That's thoughtful of you."
"See, on the front it says, 'Get Well Soon' ... and on the inside it says,'Because me bed isn't made, my clothes need to be put away and I'm hungry. Love Calvin.' Want to sign it?"
"Sure, I'm hungry too"

I go to school, but I never learn what I want to know.

Girls are like slugs - they probably serve some purpose, but it's hard to imagine what.

"Hello Susie, this is Calvin. I lost our homework assignment. Can you tell me what we were supposed to read for tomorrow?"
"Are you sure you're not calling for some other reason?"
"Why else would I call you?"
"Maybe you missed the melodious sound of my voice?"
"WHAT? Are you crazy? All I want is the STUPID assignment!"
"First say you missed the melodious sound of my voice."
"THIS IS BLACKMAIL!"

Calvin : You can't just turn on creativity like a faucet. You have to be in the right mood.
Hobbes : What mood is that?
Calvin : Last-minute panic.

Calvin: I'm a genius, but I'm a misunderstood genius.
Hobbes: What's misunderstood about you?
Calvin: Nobody thinks I'm a genius.

I'm not dumb. I just have a command of thoroughly useless information

I have a hammer! I can put things together! I can knock things apart! I can alter my environment at will and make an incredible din all the while! Ah, it's great to be male!

I'm learning real skills that I can apply throughout the rest of my life ... Procrastinating and rationalizing.

“Sometimes I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.”

“Well, remember what you said, because in a day or two, I'll have a witty and blistering retort! You'll be devastated THEN!”

“Who was the first guy that look at a cow and said," I think that I'll drink whatever comes out of those things when I squeeze them?”

"These are interesting times. We don't trust the government, we don't trust the legal system, we don't trust the media, and we don't trust each other! We've undermined all authority, and with it, the basis for replacing it! It's like a six-year-old's dream come true!"

Nothing spoils fun like finding out it builds character

Aww mom, you act like I'm not even wearing a bungie cord!

When birds burp, it must taste like bugs.

Susie: You'd get a good grade without doing any work.
Calvin: So?
Susie: It's wrong to get rewards you haven't earned.
Calvin: I've never heard of anyone who couldn't live with that.

:)

Last Thursday John took me to the Jazz vs. Suns game, and we had so much fun! Unfortunately the Jazz lost....not something I really care about but that was just who we were cheering for. hehe. After the game we went to "The Pie" in Salt Lake. It was SO much fun. Jason Rawle is just about the funniest person I know. He was convinced that he could eat a whole 24inch pizza all by himself. Thats 16 pieces! It was outrageous. Luckily he didnt that night because he was full after 3 pieces. haha. But they amused themselves with dipping their fingers in the wax and playing with the candles on the table.

Then Jason decided that he was going to eat a whole piece in two bites.......it was pretty commical.
John also took me to the BYU homecoming dance. We went with his friend Stuart, and his girlfriend Kari. It was so much fun! We danced and laughed all night long.

Everyone was taking these super cheesy pictures and so before we took a funny one John and I were making fun of them by acting super cheesy....Im not sure if you can tell in this picture, but its pretty funny.

This one cracks me up. Im dragging John by the ankle haha!!!
Perfection.

Kari, Stuart, John, Me

Saturday was the BYU HOMECOMING GAME! Yeah baby! I dont think I've been that cold in a really really long time! haha. But it was so much fun. John and I went with Bre and Scott. Yay family bonding time. :)

John thinks he looks gangster. hehe
On Sunday we all went over to Naomi's house for Game Night! Of course we played Mafia (like we do every sunday hehe.) We also played Zip-Bong. Or in this case Zip-Erp. haha. It was so fun. For those of you who dont know what that is, you have to keep your teeth covered the whole time, and you go around the circle saying "zip" to each other, if you want to reverse it you say "erp" or "bong"! I lost so bad, I think I made it around the circle twice at the very most, and then I just started laughing because its so so funny!

Thanksgiving Point!

Yesterday John and I went on a double date with one of my best girlfriends from CT!! We went to the corn maze at Thanksgiving Point and had a BLAST! Here are some pictures....

Sue and I were destined to be together forever.. :)

The HAY RIDE! It was SO much fun!

Mmmmm, we love corn. hehe

The Corn Box! I seriously dont think I've ever laughed so hard in my life! We played in this corn box for such a long time! hehe, even though we were the only adults that were actually PLAYING in the corn box. But all the kids started playing with us too. So that was fun!

THE COW RIDE! They had these cute little cow buckets that they pulled along with a tractor. hehe. Someone stole Sue's as she was taking a picture and so she had to share with Bremen! It was so funny!

The Pumpkin Christmas Tree, and Rosted Marshmallows! :)

After the night of fun was over we went to Wendy's for some grub. Oh how we love wendy's.

Vegas, Boys, Work, Friends, Family.....

Okay I have been informed that I definitely need to blog more, I do apologize because my camera broke a while ago, and so I couldnt take pictures for a while. But then I bought a new camera!! yay! And its so cute too, (its red) so I started taking a few pictures, then I lost my adapter for the computer, and once I found that I lost my camera! haha.

Anyway.
Vegas: So last time I left off we went to VEGAS! yay, I love Vegas! And I love all my little cousins that I get to play with! They're so adorable! We swam and played all day long! The twins were so much fun! I love love love babies! hehe. I was talking to Ryan the other day and he asked me how vegas was. I told him it was SO great, he asked what I did......hehe I told him I played with babies and little kids all day! haha. Thats why I go to Las Vegas, to play with the kids. I've only been to the strip once..maybe twice I dont remember. Nisha and Al are going to go with me sometime next year. Im pretty excited.

Boys: I've been dating this guy for a month now, his name is John Patten (JP for short). He's 22, RM-served in Hong Kong, and is now going to BYU. We met at a BYU dance. He has his minor in Business, and he's majoring in Chinese. He's also in the Airforce! ... Anyway, so we've been dating for a bit, and the other day I went to his missoin reunion.

(John's the one in the grey shirt sitting next to me.)
It was fun! We played ping pong for ever!! (Im so terrible at ping pong. haha.)
Anyway thats about it.

Work: Ellie and Nathan are AWESOME. Today was a little rough, Stephanie took Nathan to the doctor ALL day so it was just me and Elisabeth. We went swimming for about 2 hours and when we came home, she got super super moody and tired. Throwing the craziest tantrums, but its okay because now she's taking a nap.

However, yesterday we had a BLAST! Elisabeth was playing dress up and we played with Nathan. It was so much fun. One time Ellie walked over to the camera after I'd taken a picture, and when she saw the pic she was like, "Oh! You could post that on your blog!!"
Exact words! No joke!
I almost died, I was laughing so hard!!! She says the funniest things. I just love it!

Friends: The other day I went shopping with Dee to look at her wedding dress because Im doing her hair for pictures and the BIG DAY! ahhh!! We had so much fun! And I met her mom, she's super cute! I can totally see where Dee gets it from! love love love.
Also, after Saturday morning conference John and I went to this lovely Chinese place to eat. It was SO good! Im in love with chinese food! While we were there I ate.....are you ready for this...?
CHICKEN FEET!
Im dead serious! You have to bite it off at the joint and suck the meet off the bone, then spit the bone onto the plate! And to tell you the truth, it wasnt that repulsive. ha. It was actually kind of good. Like I didnt even gag! *proud moment*

Family: THE NEW HANSEN MEMBER HAS FINALLY ARRIVED!
Her name is Emery Jane Hansen. Emy for short. She's so adorable! John and I went over after Saturday morning conference (and the crazy chicken feet experience. hehe) I surprised the girls by showing up and we played for a while. I was tickling them like crazy and one time John told Ashley to lick me and I would stop tickling her! WELL SHE DID! Natty and Ash chased me around the kitchen licking me! Oh it was so gross! And then John held me down while they tickled me! .... Needless to say, they totally love him. =) haha

Okay well thats enough for now, I promise to blog more from now on. hehe.
xoxo

Moderation of "Kisses"

Just so everyone knows, I did not teach Ellie anything about FRENCH KISSES. She asked how Belle kissed, I couldnt think of anything quickly enough so I just did double kisses!
I just thought that I'd let everyone know, Elisabeth does not know what French kissing is.
Gee wiz.

Kisses

Oh my goodness, today was SO funny! Elisabeth was cracking me up!!
I taught her how to do butterfly kisses, doggy kisses, fishy kisses, Belle kisses, and people kisses.

Butterfly kisses: blinking eyelashes on their cheek.
Doggy kisses: rubbing noses together.
Fishy kisses: make fish lips and kiss.
Belle kisses: (basically french kisses) kiss on both cheeks.
People kisses:....well. just a normal kiss.

So she just got a crack out of all of these kisses, and in between each one she would say "Tight squeeze!" and give me a huge hug! (she was sitting on my lap). And then once we had gone through the whole list of kisses a few times she started making up weird named kisses that ended up just being a normal kiss, or a kiss on the cheek. UNTIL. After a really silly "tight squeeze" she said "MAN KISSES!" and shoved her face right against my chest, then she just rested her head there for a few seconds, sat back up and grinned this huge cheeser grin. I asked, "Ellie, what are 'Man kisses'?" and she said, "MAN KISSES!" and again stuck her face right against my chest! Oh my heavens, I started laughing SO hard I couldnt breathe for at least 30 seconds! I just had to get on and blog about it. hah. Anyway, I've got to go, but I just thought I'd warn everyone about the new "Man kisses". hehe. Beware!
Oh how children know so much, and yet so little at the same time.

Swimming

Oh my gosh! I just had to post this because it was so so funny! Today Stephanie took Nathan to the doctors, so Ellie and I went swimming at their club pool. While we were there she was running from the "big pool" to the "hot pool" and enjoying every minute.
Once while we were in the "hot pool" with the bubbles swarming all around us, she raised her arms to find white all up her hands and forearms.
"LOOK!! I have pretty pretty Cinderella gloves!"
I was laughing so hard! So for the next hour we made short gloves, long gloves, hand gloves, finger gloves, and body gloves (the last ones didnt work out as well as we had hoped)
Oh the imagination of a child. .... I love it!

Weddings and such

Do not fear everyone, the mono is gone-o! hehe. It really wasnt that big of a deal, although I do apologize to anyone if they caught the dreadful thing because of me. Outside of work I always forgot about this so I'd share drinks and food. hehe. oops.
So in the time that it has been since I've written, my lovely friend Leslie Martinez became Leslie CHRISTENSEN! =) and I am so so so so happy for her and Cade. They are adorable and Les looked exquisit at her reception. Also my lovely Whitney Gleave became life long - eternity long soul mates with the dashing Ryan Howes. Their reception was amazing! It was held at the Grand America Hotel in SLC, and, wow-I tell you what, wow!
So anyway, all the friends are getting married, yay. Marriage is cool...(or so I've heard)
Alsho I jusht resheived newsh that my wonderful friend
Lindshay Miller
ish
ENGAGED!
to
Ryan Sh. Francshish!
(hehe Ryan your last name is funny in Nicole and Lindsay language!)
And I couldnt be more thrilled for the two of them. I KENW they would get marreid, they're simply perfect for each other!! So happy thoughts to them both!!
As for myself, I am really not doing anything absolutely thrilling. Just working, and waiting for school to start, and hanging out. So until next time.....xoxo
