Holidays, Hair cuts, Happy Ever Afters, Hard times, and Hatching flowers???

Alright, so its been a while since I've posted... I think its a well known fact that I am NOT a blogger. oh well.. for those of you who dont know..... this is what's been happening for the past 3.5 months.
December was GREAT. Christmas was fantastic! I loved it, as I always do. Spencer and I spent the whole day together.... I also think this is the last picture we've taken together...and we didnt even take it! Breen did. (thanks again) I guess I'll have to get on that.. Im not very good at remembering that I have a camera in my purse. Anyway, Christmas was grand.

American Idol started... And I am STILL constantly reminded that If I were a boy... I'd be Adam Lambert. I even did the whole "doppledanger" thing, and dear old Adam was my result. Thank you world, I am so thrilled to be compared to this guy. And although I love his voice... looking at him is not one of my favorite time passing activities.
In preperation of Valentines Day.. Elisabeth and I made a heart cake one day for lunch. She was thrilled that I let her go to town with the sprinkles, but I knew that was the only way we'd get a red heart cake, was by her dumping the whole bottle on.
Ending result... she had a blast! And the cake wasnt too bad either.
hair boredom has succumbed to me once again. So while sitting in class one day, I turned to my dear friend Erin and said "cut all my hair off please." And so we did.
BEFORE:
DURING: (hey, lets throw some blonde in too!)
AFTER:
9 inches shorter and LOOOOVING it!
Can it please be spring now?
You guessed it, its WEDDING TIME!!! My dear cousin Andrew decided to marry his sweet love named Alicia, on February 12, 2010. How momentous was this occasion. Here are a few pictures of the wonderful event.
Mackley Bell.. never a dull moment.
Classic Grandpa
Audrey, Emily, Me, Mom.
Awaiting the arrival of the newlyweds.
Andrew was very excited.

My poor "Nathan Dude" had to have jaw distractor surgery because when he sleeps his tongue falls back into his throat and blocks his oxygen..which is causing his heart to fail.. = bad. This is the second time he has had this surgery, he had them when he was just a brand new baby too! I feel so bad for the poor little guy, but he's amazing and doing well. He is so happy all the time, and he hardly ever cries. As you can see.. He loves his trains!
So cute!

There is NEVER a dull moment with Nathan. Last week when I set Nathan in the tub, he looks down at the water and I hear this "clunk". What in the world, I look over and HOLY CRAP! There is half of his distractor laying in the bathtub water!
Now, you know that feeling when your heart drops into your stomach and you get lightheaded and feel like you're going to throw up?? Well, welcome to my life. I immediately looked up at Nathan, expecting to see this gushing of blood from his face... but nope. He just stared at that distractor and then looked up at me like "well, what the heck are you going to do about it!" All the while with this hole in the side of his face.
So I call Stephanie.
"Hey, um... Nathan's distractor came out... like out of his face. It just fell out, what do you want me to do??"
"Um... I'll be home in a second."
Well lucky us, we sat on the phone with the hospital for well over 20 minutes trying to get someone to talk to us and tell us what in the world we should do. So finally they decide that Nathan needs to come to the E.R.
I'd say so.... wouldnt you?
(hole in cheek)
this is the top of the distractor... those two screws/prongs/whatever you want to call them... they are supposed to be INSIDE his face.
So we put it in a zip-lock and let Nathan play with it.

I decided to take advantage of Nathan being gone, and set up a play date with our dear friend Talia (Spencer's niece) We went to the park and had a picnic, played on the swings and jungle gyms, and then the girls fed the ducks the crusts from their sandwiches. It was such a nice day! Beautiful weather, and plenty of room for the girls to run and scream and do whatever they wanted.
Ducks
Spencer also came and brought Georgia with...
Classic Spence.
Feeding Ducks
"Hey mom... this is what I was doing BEFORE I got my fingers chopped off.."
(just kidding)
We also found a Marley dog.

If you couldnt tell, I want it to be spring time again. Im ready for shorts, tank tops, flip flops and swim suits! Lets get rid of this cold, windy, rainy, wet snow junk, and bring in the SUNSHINE!!! I am excited to say that Spring Break is coming up and I have the WHOLE week off!! :)
And yes, I will be going somewhere warm!
Also, I was flipping through a magazine yesterday and I came across this Dasani add... with a piece of plant paper?? wtf? Well apparently if you soak this paper, cover it in soil, and then water it every day... it will grow wild flowers! HA! We'll see about that. (okay, so Im actually really excited about it... I'll post pictures if it really works!!) But for now, here are some Spring fotos to enjoy while we're waiting to be warm again...

Enjoy!

Happy Birthday to Me...

Birthday time!!!!
Taylor's birthday was exactly one week before mine, so I drove down to Ephraim and we had a little combination celebration! This is us with our beautiful cake.

Spencer brought me roses on my birthday! He told me he wasnt coming home til Friday, but he surprised me and came on Thursday. He just showed up at school with this bouquet. It was wonderful. <3

Friday we went up to dinner in Salt Lake and saw the lights at Temple Square. They were gorgeous as always. We also went into the Tabernacle and watched a broadcast of the MOTAB Christmas Concert. It was pretty great.

On Saturday I went to a dance concert with my mom, and then finished up some Christmas shopping! Spencer and I went over to Sam and Jen's for dinner and Caramel Apples/to decorate Christmas Sugar Cookies!!! The kids made a huge mess, but it was fun, and they loved eating all that sugar!

All in all, it was a wonderful weekend, what made it even better is that Spencer DIDNT HAVE TO LEAVE ON SUNDAY! He's here for Christmas break!! Im so excited! Happy Holidays everyone!!!

TOFW and Thanksgiving Week

Well I sure did step out of my comfort zone for about 3 minutes. Sheri spoke at the Salt Lake City Time Out For Women and she asked me and 5 cousins to sing! In front of 3500 women, I might add. It was fun though. We sang "If The Savior Stood Beside Me", and it ended up being perfect. It was so fun to have everyone together again! I love my family.
So anyway, here are some pictures of the lovely event.

My Mom & my best friend!

Thanksgiving was kind of different for me this year, I wasn't with my family!! My mom and Ty went to Wyoming to be with my mom's parents. Breanne and Scott were in Wyoming as well because that's where they live (poor guys). Trevor now works at Deer Valley and he had training throughout the week, so he was gone as well. Dad was supposed to go to Wyoming, but for some reason he stayed last minute, so he was with the Dew side of the family. So I was lucky enough to be invited to the Eaquinto Thanksgiving Festivities! I was so excited. Spencer and I went over to Angie and Jesus's on Wednesday and played games. Angie and Spencer had a Wii ski-off, I'm still not sure who won... but we got some pretty funny pictures of Spencer. You start out bending your knees, and you're supposed to stay perfectly balanced until the skier gets to the red line at the bottom of the slope... and then.....

You straighten your legs as fast as you can so the little guy jumps, and you try to get the best score. It got pretty competitive, someone was holding themselves steady via help from the ceiling, and others were pushing each other off... It was pretty entertaining. I even got in on the action...

I got right in Spencer's face and blocked the T.V. and told him, "Don't mess up! Don't mess up!" and the stinker didn't even mess up!! I'm pretty sure that was actually his best jump of the night. Eh, oh well. :) I got a good picture out of it!!

Then the girls broke out the chairs and we started playing the beloved game of
MuSiCaL cHaIrS!!
It was absolutely fantastic! I had so much fun. And Spencer was a hoot, dancing around like he owned the place. Angie was the photographer during all the commotion, and she captured some wonderfully epic moments.
I'm pretty sure Spencer lost this round... He's just jammin out.

I was dancing backwards and for some reason Spencer thought it was pretty funny, either that or I stepped on the dog, mid-dance move.

FACE OFF!!

Sonia and I are pretty dang good at getting in the chairs before everyone else. Basically we're Musical Chair Experts. Don't feel too bad, its really hard to beat us.

We then made our way over to Ty Empey's house where we hung out with Ty and Levi and Mr. Empey for a while before the boys decided to go to ... where? Betos, of course. (barf) I completely and entirely LOATHE Betos with a passion. Any place that I could contract an STD just by walking inside, I tend to veer away from. However, for some reason, if you have male body parts, it could very well be your most favorite place in the world. I know it is for these 3 boys. So we went, but not before Ty had the brilliant idea of throwing darts into Spencer's cast... "Don't hit me in the elbow!" (...boys)

Welcome the day of Giving Thanks!!! We started the morning off at Sam and Jen's with a delicious breakfast, then we headed over to play Flag Football on the elementary school's lawn. Talk about a crazy time. Angie made the best play of the entire game, talk about taking one for the team, she dove through the air, caught the ball, and sacrificed her body with a vicious landing. It was Eaquinto's (+Me and Angie) vs. Hayes's + Gutierrez's. Do you even have to guess who won the game?? The Eaquinto's totally dominated. Whenever Spencer and I are on a team together, we never lose! Its pretty awesome actually. I mean, I feel bad for everyone who is on the other team, because I know already that they wont win. However, I was a little nervous about this game because I don't play football, I watch football, AND Spencer was a gimp.. so we were a little off numbered. But Sam, Spence, and D pulled us through.
After a much needed nap, the Gutierrez's, Alisa's, and Nonna, Babbo, and Spencer and I gathered for a most delicious dinner. And of course, we have pictures!!
The Joe's are so hardcore.

Talia and Mia teasing their favorite Uncle Spence.

TURKEY!

All Talia wanted for dinner was Turkey.... and that's all she got.

Basically it was a wonderful weekend!! Friday, Saturday, and Sunday we all just relaxed and spent a few lazy, turkey-hangover days together. It was perfect.

Lost and Found

I have lost my camera. :(

(False.)
Actually, I just left it in Spencer's car and he went back to Ephraim
...so now that it has been found, at it is most likely sitting in his room, we dont have to continue the grand search. (I hope there's nothing embarrassing on there!) However, this was probably the worst week to not have a camera. Im dying without it. Please come back to me.......
I Hope everyone had a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving!
Happy Holidays.

Halloween Week

Pumpkins, Witches, Goblins, Ghosts. Halloween brings with it costumes, sugar highs, and unfortunately..... some injuries.
On Friday Spencer and I carved pumpkins at his apartment with his roommate Reed and his date. Spencer and I had a competition, so to speak, going on about who's pumpkin would be 1. the cleanest (on the inside) 2. Be the most creative. and 3. Be the most legit..... Poor Spence didnt understand what he was getting himself into unfortunately. Little did he know, the Brad and Lisa Dew family are intensely faithful pumpkin carvers. And we dont do the cute little faces with triangle eyes and missing teeth.... no no no. For example, these are the last two pumpkins that I have carved.
2006- Belle and Chip
(missing pictures....will come soon)
2008- Batman (in case you cant see it, he's standing up. You just see his silhouette.)

I realize that it wasnt very fair of me that I didnt inform Spencer before hand that I take pumpkin carving very seriously...BUT Im sure that even if I did tell him, he would have said, "Yeah, whatever. It doesnt matter, Im still going to win." So, I just didnt bother. The evening was wonderful. We had a pumpkin carving party, Reedous set up the tunes and we covered the table in newspaper. It was fantastic. The ending result was as follows.....:
Reed's pumpkin: Texas Longhorns

Spencer's pumpkin: a Unicorn

My pumpkin: TAPOUT! (my idea came from Zack Wilson)
We had fun arguing who's pumpkin was more hardcore....until I pointed out that I carved Tapout, which in and of itself is hardcore....while Spencer carved a Unicorn. :) It is a very beautiful Unicorn however.
The last home game of Snow College Season was on Halloween!!! And with it came ...
Nonna's delicious homemade sandwiches

Bria's Creative Oreo Combinations

Sofie and Bobbo playing together

Spencer on the field before........

Kristin taking pictures of him breaking his arm. :(

Which lead up to Spencer on Lortab for the evening.... Lucky Dan was the one to give him the drugs and thought it would be a great idea to give him 2 Lortab instead of just 1. (he actually probably should have only had 1/2) But Im not complaining, it made for a incredibly entertaining evening.

Who knew I'd end up being a nurse for Halloween?! After all that stress of trying to find the best costumes, I didnt even need to fret! The only prop I needed for my costume was some Lortab, Krispy Kreme Donuts, and Chocolate Milk. Hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween!! Soon it will be time to give thanks and stuff yourself full of Turkey and Potatoes!!!
(side note: They've started playing Christmas music on the radio! :))
